Thereafter, crescent watching for the month of Muharram 1442 took place after sunset on Wednesday the 29th of Dthul Hijja 1441(Hijri), which coincided with the 19th of August 2020. As a result, the sighting of the crescent of Muharram 1442 was confirmed. Hence, Thursday, 20th of August 2020 is the first of Muharram 1442.
