Thereafter, crescent watching for the month of Safar 1438 took place after sunset on Sunday the 29th of Muharam (Hijriyy), which coincided with 30th of October 2016. As a result, the sighting of the crescent of Safar 1438 was not confirmed. Hence, Tuesday, 1st November 2016 is the first of Safar 1438 (Hijriyy).
