Thereafter, crescent watching for the month of Rabi^ Al Akhir 1438 took place after sunset on Monday the 29th of Rabi^Awwal 1438 (Hijriyy), which coincided with 18th of January 2016. As a result, the sighting of the crescent of Rabi^ Al Akhir 1438 was not confirmed. Hence, Wednesday 20th of January 2017 is the first of Rabi^ Al Akhir 1438 (Hijriyy).
