The Meaning of Suratul-Falaq
I start my recitation with the Name of Allah (the One Who deserves to be worshipped), Who is ar-Rahman (the One Who is very merciful to the Believers and non-Believers in this life), and Who is ar-Rahim (the One Who is very merciful to the Believers only in the Hereafter).
-
[O Muhammad,] say: I seek refuge with Allah, the Lord (Creator and Sustainer) of dawn,
-
from the evil of what He created (such as the Devil and fire),
-
and from the evil of the night when it comes,
-
and from the evil of the witches who blow on knots,
-
and the evil of the covetous one when he coverts.
