Darulfatwa-Australia Condemns the movie degrading our Master Muhammad

Dr Sheikh Salim Alwan, Chairman of Darulfatwa-Australia, condemned the movie degrading our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him, as offensive to all Muslims, releasing the following announcement:

Praise be to Allah,The Lord of the worlds, and may Allah raise the rank of our dearest Prophet and Master Muhammad, Sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, and protect his nation from that which he feared for it.

An ayah in the Qur’an says, what means: (O you who believe, obey Allah and reflect upon the deeds you have prepared for the hereafter). Allah the Exalted commands us in this Ayah to be obedient to Him.”

The character of a good Muslim is not to curse, neither to be vile or seditious. Rather, the good Muslim displays patience upon being harmed, refrains from harming others, and treats in a good manner both the ones that hurt him and the ones that do well by him.

For this reason, we urge the community to resort to a conduct that is of calm and reasonable nature and to cease aggression in tackling the recent issues at hand.   Islam does not condone violence and aggression of any kind when resolving conflicts.

Prophet Muhammad, may Allah raise his rank, taught us to follow the right path, which avoids conflict. Some scholars have also said: “Do not respond to vile acts with vile acts”.

Prophet Muhammad is attributed with the best of manners. He accepted and abided by all that the Honourable Qur’an obligates one to accept and abide by.

Prophet Muhammad was sent as a mercy to his nation. He displayed nothing less than courage and bravery, upon confronting those misguided of his nation.

Prophet Muhammad never refused to give up anything worldly, so long as it was deemed permissible in accordance with the rules of Islam.

Prophet Muhammad only ever spoke the truth, and embodied trustworthiness in all its form. Allah granted our dearest Prophet and Master the pinnacle rank in good manners.

His silence was characterised by his eyes as being fixed to the floor, rather than the sky. Conversely, his speech was characterised by eyes fixed to the sky, to indicate the direction to which one supplicates, and the place from which the mercies, blessings and the Revelations descend.

His ultimate modesty and humbleness never saw his eyes glare that of another individual. Prophet Muhammad was the most humble of humans, and the most generous of people to his Companions. He refrained from extending his legs when seated amongst individuals, out of respect for those around him.

He was the most merciful person to every believer, and his mercy extended to even animals and birds. For example, he would facilitate drinking for all cats that approached him, by frequently lowering the drinking bowl to them.

Prophet Muhammad accompanied all that approached him from the poor, the needy and the widow. The Prophet, Sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, did joke with his Companions, as a means of expressing his love towards them, and comforting them amidst their hardships. This helped to relieve their stress. Nonetheless, his jokes never entailed lies and were never in violation of the rules of the religion. He only ever spoke the truth, as all the Prophets are impeccable of lying, both before and after Prophet-hood

Prophet Muhammad ate among the slaves, without ever displaying superiority over them. In such instances, he would say: “I’m just a slave; I eat as the slave eats, and I sit as the slave sits.” Verse 4 of Surat al-Qalam clarified his manners :{ وإِنَّكَ لَعَلَى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ}. It means: "Verily, your manners are distinguished and great.

Lady ^A’ishah, may Allah raise her rank, upon being asked about the Prophet’s manners, said: {كان خلقه القرءان}. It means: "His manners were all what the Qur'an ordered to do". Upon being asked about his manners on a different occasion, she said: “He was not extreme nor an extremist, he did not use to spend his time during the day in the markets talking with the purpose of collecting money.”

Prophet Muhammad was never one to mistreat those that mistreated him. Rather, he forgave greatly. His generosity was plentiful and its magnitude can be traced to a saying by Imam Muslim, related from the route of Anas, which said: “The Messenger of Allah sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam used to give anything that would benefit Islam if he was to be asked.”

In one instance, Prophet Muhammad was approached by a needy man requesting support. The Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam, provided the man with sheep that grazed between two mountains. The needy man returned to his village, and said to the people: “O people embrace Islam, for Muhammad gives as much as the one who does not fear poverty.”

There are countless instances which depict the detachment of Prophet Muhammad from worldly matters, his high level of humility, and his extensive efforts towards the hereafter. A saying from the route of ^Abdullah, related by al-Bayhaqiyy, at-Tirmidhiyy, and Ibn Majah, said: “The Prophet sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam laid down on a mat, which left some marks on his skin. So I began stroking my hand over his skin so that the marks would disappear and said: ‘You come before my own father and mother O Messenger of Allah, would you permit us to spread something for you on the floor to sleep on that will prevent you from such marks?’”. In response to this, Prophet Muhammad said, what means: "Keep the worldly matters away from me, and keep me away from them, in this life I am just like a rider who rested in a shade under a tree and left it when departing."

Prophet Muhammad, may Allah raise his rank, was the most humble of humans. He loved the needy, attended their funerals, and frequently visited the sick. Prophet Muhammad was the most handsome of humans, and carried an honourable lineage.

Prophet Muhammad is attributed with only the best of traits. Examples include truthfulness, honesty, keeping close ties with kinship, generosity, bravery, as well as obedience to Allah in every instance, in every moment, and with every breath.  Prophet Muhammad treated the poor, the weak, the orphans, and the widows with compassion and benevolence.

Therefore, we, Muslims, take great pride in our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and in his characteristics and we take heed in his righteousness and always strive to follow in his footsteps.
